ABOUT THIS PROJECT

The plateau near the Vuk’s monument is a very important landmark of Belgrade with a rich history. Over time, this space has undergone major changes. It has a special symbolism because of the monument to Vuk Karadžić, which was erected in 1937 to honour 150 years since his birth. Therefore, the symbolism of the Cyrillic alphabet as the greatest legacy of Vuk Karadzic to his people, is woven into the design and constructive solutions in various ways.

Thus, at the most important entrances to the underground passages, for the railway station or garage, entrance canopies are designed. The plateau will be paved uniformly, with stone slabs the dimensions of which are 40 x 80 cm and thickness 8 cm. The paving is placed transversely in relation to the direction of movement of pedestrians.
